Hace poco me llegó un mail el cual me hablaba del WebFest, un festival pero en internet basado en contenidos libres. Según contaba seria gratuito y podriamos descargar todo tipo de material libre o con licencia Creative Commons como juegos, musica pelis, libros software…

Este está previsto celebrarse para el 24 y el 26 de Junio, de momento siguen buscando colaboradores, artistas y sponsors, y piden colaboración para promocionar el acto.

Hola,

Después de visitar tu web me gustaría que participaras en el MidSummerEve
WebFest, un festival virtual que será sólo en Internet, estamos invitando a
personas de todo el mundo para que participen. ¡Cualquier persona con acceso
a Internet podrá asistir al Webfest!

Webfest es sobre las nuevas tendencias en arte, tecnología, comunicación y
licencias de autor… pensamos que las licencias Creative Commons son las más
adecuadas en la era digital, junto al Software Libre/Código Libre que permite
a los artistas un mayor control de su obra, ya que pueden personalizar las
herramientas a sus necesidades (ver dyne.org). Se trata de promover las
licencias CopyLeft, GNU/GPL, Creative Commons y otras que promuevan la
libre difusión de la cultura, sin por ello excluir los CopyRights.

MidSummer Eve Webfest es un evento coordinado por el estudio de diseño
OrganicaDTM, creadores de OpenPuppets (http://www.openpuppets.com -con
peluches de edición limitada-), CejasBravas y 3Angels.

Los visitantes podrán descargar música, películas, fondos de escritorio,
software; conversar con artistas, creadores y empresas para conocerlos mejor;
participar en juegos en red; etc.

Colaborán en el webfest artistas y empresas (productoras, revistas,
tiendas, ...) de áreas tan diversas como:

● VideoJays
● Música libre / Indie
● Diseñadores de juguetes (peluches, vinyl, ...)
● Software Libre / Código Libre
● Media, Blogs, Podcast & VideoBlogging
● E-Art / Net-Art
● Películas libre / Indie
● Libros libre / Indie
● Juegos de rol libre / Indie
● Juegos de ordenador libre / Indie
● Cuentacuentos

Un festival internacional, donde los visitantes son protagonistas. Toda la
información se encontrará disponible en Español e Inglés y permanecerá
publicada en Internet de forma indefinida, permitiendo que se aproveche su
contenido en el tiempo. El MidSummer Eve Web Festival tendrá una periodicidad
anual.

Queremos que usted comparta con los visitantes su trabajo, contando con un
espacio en la web de Midsummerevewebfest para todas las obras que desee
compartir (alrededor del 20 de mayo estará disponible el sitio web para subir
los archivos); también nos gustaría que diera una charla online para contar
lo que hace a los visitantes. Usted elige el día y la hora que desee,
cualquiera entre el 24 y el 26 de junio 2005.

Si lo desea puede ayudarnos divulgando la existencia del festival o invitando
